Q. Does Streamline register me for the SAT/ACT?
A. No, you need to register yourself for the exams (ACT: Sign In | MyACT SAT: The SAT – SAT Suite | College Board)
Q. I have a session scheduled and need to cancel/reschedule, what should I do?
A. If your session is scheduled to start within 24 hours of notifying the tutor of your cancellation, you will be charged the full price for the session. The student and tutor will work to find a convenient time to reschedule the session to keep the curriculum on track.
Q. When should I start preparing for the SAT/ACT?
A. This depends on the student, but to make sure you prepare appropriately, plan on ~5 months of sessions and taking the official test twice.
Q. I have already taken one test with no prep, is it worth starting sessions now and taking it again?
A. Absolutely! Once you start sessions, you will feel more confident with the test and the topics it covers.
Q. How often will I meet with my tutor?
A. Sessions can vary, however we recommend 2x’s/week for 60 minutes each for SAT/ACT tutoring. Subject tutoring can vary depending on subject and student but is usually once per week for 60 minutes.
Q. Will I have homework?
A. Yes, there is typically 2-4 hours of weekly homework assigned for SAT/ACT test prep students but students have access to our SmartyPrep platform where they can log in and do as much work as they want in reading, grammar and math.
Q. Do I have to take a full length test before I start tutoring sessions for the SAT/ACT?
A. Yes, all students take 3 assessments when onboarding with Streamline, a full length diagnostic (3-4.5 hours), iSavant Assessment (5 minutes) and a cognitive assessment through Mindprint (45 minutes). These assessments help us determine the best test, tutor and curriculum schedule.
Q. I am not sure if I should take the SAT or ACT?
A. Streamline will help determine the best test for a student. Should a student start tutoring sessions and then want to switch tests, we will work with the tutor and the intake team at Streamline to make sure it is in the best interest of the student.
Q. What does the onboarding fee cover?
A. It covers all of the initial assessments along with guaranteeing a score increase of 200-300 points depending on how many hours you have been working with us along with fulfilling the additional requirements set forth in the terms and conditions presented at the beginning of sessions.
Q. How do I track my students hours to make sure they fulfill the hourly requirements for the onboarding score guarantee?
A. You can check past sessions in the parent portal or reach out to the client intake team at Streamline any time to check on completed hours. It is the family’s responsibility to make sure all hours are completed prior to the last test taken by the student. If the hours are not completed, they will not be eligible for the onboarding guarantee.
Q. What other services outside of SAT/ACT test prep do you offer?
A. Streamline offers subject tutoring for all middle, high school and college courses, along with ISEE, GRE and GMAT tutoring. In addition to these offerings, Streamline has designed a tutorial program for students as young as 4th grade. The Tutorial gives students a tremendous advantage in helping them to integrate key knowledge and skills while becoming the best version of themselves as a learner.
Q. Do you offer virtual or in person sessions?
A. We are a 100% virtual tutoring firm! Being virtual allows us to reach more students and hire the best talent in the world! We feel that students are most comfortable in their own environment which makes them more attentive throughout their sessions.
Q. What do I need for my sessions?
A. You will need a computer, notebook, pen and calculator for the sessions. All other study materials are provided through our online platforms, SmartyPrep(homework), SmartyBubble(practice tests) and SmartyCRM(scheduling and payments).
Q. Can I request a specific tutor?
A. Absolutely, as long as the schedule works out for all parties involved.
Q. Can I put my credit card on file for the monthly invoice to be automatically paid?
A. Yes, we highly encourage parents to put their card on file to establish automatic payments. Please visit https://crm.smartyprep.me/ to add your credit card into the parent portal using your email as the username and if you’ve never logged in click on the “forgot my password” button and you will receive a link sent to the email that you have on file with Streamline.
Q. The subject I would like tutoring for is not listed on your website, what should I do?
